I spent several hours today cleaning the rest of our grout. I am SO PLEASED with how it turned out, even though it took time and elbow grease.

I realise it wasn't really bad, but I knew it was dirty and could tell in places.

I have hated having tile because of the grout stains. Now it looks great. The hubby is happy because now he isn't worried about coming home one day and finding the tile all broken up! ....I've threatened to do that, and replace it with vinyl.
I already feel like retirement is making a huge improvement to the cleanliness and organisation of our home. It does something uplifting to my mood to have a clean and organised space. And I really enjoy the work it takes to get there. Likewise clutter and dirt in my home really bother me. It stresses me and puts me in a bad mood. So yay for time to really clean and organise!

Your floors/grout look great. Seeing your progress on cleaning and organizing your home inspires me to do the same. Only wish I was retired too! Have a great day.

Thanks Anne! I know when I see other folks' projects it inspires me too. That is why I love the blogging world.
You’ve done a great job with removing those grout stains. And it seems that the original grout color blends well with the color or the tiles, albeit a bit lighter. Anyway, it’s nice to know that cleaning and organizing helps you relieve some of your stress. Thanks for sharing this with us, Rachel. All the best!

It’s great that you were able to remove those stains from the grouts. Your tiles look great, and it’s even better when the grouts are also clean. Anyway, thanks you for sharing this with us. Have a great day!

You did a great job in getting rid of the grout! The tiles are now spotless and not a bit of grout or molds are in sight. By the way, what kind of cleaning solution did you use for the black stains? It seems like you were able to remove them successfully too. I'll hope for a response, Rachel. Thanks! :)

Alex, I used a grout cleaner sold at Lowe's. Spray it on, let it sit a few minutes, scrub with a small brush, then wipe off and rinse. Still a lot of work, but worth it,
