Been pretty busy.....

This is the last of the star quilts for a while. I made this one for the baby daughter of a co-worker. We are giving him a shower after work in a couple of weeks. I hope to get a picture of it with him and his wife. The baby isn't here yet!

More Stars

This is the other quilt I originally made for the church auction. However, there is a young couple expecting a baby girl that Elijah is friends with. We are going to a function at their church Wednesday night where they are also giving her a shower. I decided it would be nice to give it to them. I have plenty of time and fabric to make another before our church auction.

Signature Star

This star pattern is becoming my signature quilt pattern. My machine messed up about the time when this one was ready to quilt, so I hand quilted it. It is to be donated to the church for an auction to raise money for the youth ministries. My machine has been serviced and is now ready for more sewing.

Five Yard Quilt

This a a "five Yard Quilt" from Bolines. I think they have a website. It was a package of 5 one yard cuts of coordinating fabric. They came with the patterns to make several quilts. The quilt measured 64 x 88.

Jamestown Quilt Show

Today Charla and I went to Jamestown to see a quilt show at a Baptist Church. The church pews were covered in mostly antique quilts; the show featured the quilts of a 97 year old quilter from the area, plus had lots of other beautiful quilts on display.

If you're a quilter, why you need to belong to a Guild

I won these blocks in a block drawing we had at our Quilt Guild. For every block you made, you got a chance to win several blocks. I made 5, and we ended up with 69 blocks. They were divided into four groups, and I won one group!! I chose a pretty light teal for the sashing. I put a yellow dot border around it all and will use the teal to bind it. I like it. To me, it looks like a real country quilt, my favorite kind.

Quilt Label

I found a picture of Kiril and Nicole to use for the label on their quilt. I transferred it to the fabric in "sepia" which is a nice tan tint. I like the way it turned out. Hope they like it!

More Star Quilts

Here are a couple more star baby quilts I made for gifts. I've decided I prefer bright colors for baby quilts. The dinosour is for the new baby son of our neighbor and the pink flowers is for the new granddaughter of a co-worker.
