I read about how to do this and wanted to give it a try.
Start with a pullover sweater.
Cut it down the center. Then cut two pieces of fabric about two inches wide and an inch or so longer that the sweater.
Pin it to the sweater edge right sides together and sew it using a 1/4 inch seam.
Fold the trim on the under side of the sweater edge and sew it down. Finished!
I tried a little different technique on the purple sweater. I cut my strips a little wider.
then folded them so a little strip of the fabric would show.
Sewed it down.
The top edges were a bit tricky. I ended up having to hand sew some on the back to get them to lay down. Now I have two little cardigans from a couple of too small sweaters!
