Saturday Sewing

I had to get at least a little bit of sewing done. Got the flag put together.  I cheated and sewed the rows together on the machine, but I am hand quilting it.

I am making a pillow of out of my batik scraps.  I plan to put it on the couch to add a little color, but since it matches the new quilt on our bed, it may end up there.

I thought you were going to hand piece it on your trip. :). I like the look of it. I found the pattern in my magazine and cut out my stencil. I'll wait until our power comes back on to look through my reds and blues. I have a closet where I keep extra fabric and I was trying to use a flashlight to look but it's too much trouble. I've got other projects to work on anyway! It was nice to have my hand appliqué work to do at night when when I was home with the power out.

I know you will be busy Mother's Day weekend but I may stop and say hi when we are there.

I've started piecing my flag. Boy is it a bugger bear! I see what you mean about being hard. I'm planning to make one for my sister and me. If I hadn't already cut out the pieces for 2 flags I might have changed my mind. Too late now. I like the look of it but it's really slow hand piecing.
