What I wore

I'm no fashion blogger, but with the advent of Pinterest and Instagram I find enjoyment in seeing what's in style and what women my age are wearing. Here is a comfy outfit I wore to work today.

The top, skirt and necklace were finds from JCPenney, and all on sale last weekend. One thing I've noticed at work. The ladies of all ages are wearing maxi skirts and really look good in them.

I love wearing long skirts. I'm very fair skinned and don't really like self tanners. I come from the generation of sun bathing "gotta get a tan" girls, so my basic instinct is to hide my white legs. However, one thing I'm finding as I get older.....things about my appearance that used to bother me, don't so much anymore. Maybe I'm realizing my value to God, just the way I am, sins and all. Maybe age brings confidence.

Friday

Today was a long run day. Perfect weather for it.

Really wanted to run over this bridge, but chickened out.

Received some new pictures and videos of my baby girl....

She is growing up so much! 15 1/2 months old already!

Her daddy is awfully happy, but obviously she is not.

After running and getting cleaned up, decided to do a 'What I Wore' pic.

The top is great. It is from Dress Barn. The jeans are Loft jewelled ankle jeans, and I'm wearing my five year old Chacos. I've worn these every summer for five years and they still look great. I really like them but my Teva sandals are more comfortable. Too bad the Teva straps aren't nearly as durable. This is only the second year with them and the straps are fraying. :(

What I wore

Today is our anniversary! To celebrate we are going out to eat in Knoxville, and maybe do a little window shopping while we are out and about.
This is about as dressed up as I get these days. Pearls. With white jeans. With another deeply discounted Loft pair of jeans. I think these long tunics are perfect for the over fifty crowd. They camaflouge the inevitable bulges of middle age. Even those of us who are small have them. Just a gentle reminder of a life well lived.

What I Wore Wednesday

Actually I wore this last Wednesday evening to church.....

..my other favorite pair of Loft jeans. These are the curvy skinny ankle. The top is one I picked up at Belk on sale. It isn't sheer, I think the colorations are called ombré. I really like the coral shades. Shoes are my leopard crocs. Another casual outfit.

What I wore Wednesday

When I retired I thought I had plenty of clothes. I did have plenty of work clothes and plenty of running clothes. Not too much casual day in/day out at home clothes. I recently purchased two pair of jeans from The Loft. Love these jeans. They are pretty pricey but I found mine at the outlet store in Pigeon Forge for about half price. Best jeans ever. The pair I am wearing today is the jewelled relaxed skinny.
Very casual but comfy and stylish. Great with my converse. The shirt is one I picked up on a sale rack. It has a high low hem. Funny thing though, when I look in the back for the label, it says "sleepwear," haha....I don't care. I am wearing it for a regular casual shirt. So, obviously the look is very casual today.

Over fifty fashion

I follow a fashion blog or two and sometimes I get some good ideas for what to wear. One blogger used the Pinterest picture on the left for inspiration for an outfit. So did I.

The tan/beige isn't good with the gray hair. Maybe I'll add a teal scarf rather than the animal print. I do like the sweater. I found it on sale at JCPenney and with my reward points it only set me back $3.28. The scarf is one I recycled. The pants are capris I had, along with the white t-shirt and boots. Do you ever look to Pinterest for fashion ideas? I think it is kind of fun to get ideas and see if you can reproduce the look with what you already have.
