"For the benefit and enjoyment of the people". So wished we had taken pictures of the arch from the Gardiner, Montana side so we could see the inscription. It is a beautiful monument built in 1903. The inscription is taken from the Organic Act of 1872, the legislation which established Yellowstone as a National Park.
