faux tile - part two

I did the front porch today.....in this heat....it was 98, after I had walked an hour and washed my car.....I don't have any sense. I've showered, cleaned up, and been inside a while and my face is still beet red.

Cleaned, etched, measured and taped. I tried to use a chalk line, but that is not a good idea on a one man job. I used my 18" square cardboard, chalk, and a wooden dowell for my straight edge.

I taped up the brick and around it with the brown paper on a roll from lowes.
I painted the dark with a plain wide roller. Then went over the insides of the squares with a medium gray and carefully went over the lines just a bit, all with a really rough sponge roller.
Pulled off the tape and paper. Yay!
