I'm trying to design my next quilt. I found one block pattern I liked and then have attempted to add a simpler block to alternate. Hope this isn't already a design. I may need to invest in EQ...or at least get myself some coloured pencils to play with.
The hubby wants a new bed quilt. I found the fabric I'd like to use, now to get the design down. What are your thoughts on EQ? Anybody used it to design their own quilts?
I REALLY like EQ.......I have the older EQ4, and I found it recently at a junk store here that had apparently bought out a quilt store's inventory from around the year 2000. It's sufficient for most of my ideas, although "modern" quilts are a bit more difficult to design on it.
ReplyDeleteBut I am a veteran of graphpads and colored pencils/markers, and it is so great to be able to see alternate colorings of the same design so easily.
I wouldn't personally invest nearly $200 or so for the program, but finding a used one was STELLAR !
I have EQ6 but prefer graph paper and colored pencils!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Dolly. The more I read about it the more I want to invest in it. I designed a quilt last night but I'd love to be able to quickly rotate the blocks to see different patterns emerge.
