Recipient of Baby Quilt

I don't often get to make a picture of the recipient of my quilts. I was able to do that tonight at a baby shower our work group gave to a co-worker and his wife to help them prepare for their new baby girl.

Still Fishing

I had hoped to get this done before my quilt machine comes on Friday, but I don't think I'll make it. This evening I found Jake lounging sound asleep on the blocks laying in the floor. Normally he would lay in the chair or on the bed, guess he knew they were fish and was hoping for a snack!

Busy Day of Sewing

Today has been a good day of sewing. I did most of my errands yesterday, so I had more sewing time than normal for a typical Friday. I sewed until my back told me to quit, which was about 30 minutes ago. I did the first block of the "Rosebud Lane" Block of the Month. It is very challenging. Then I started the "Schooling Fish", a free pattern I received in the mail with an advertisement. I have a thing for geometrics and batiks, and being my obsessive self, I just had to do one of each color of fish. The darks are supposed to resemble fish that are deeper in the water.

Taking it to a new level!

I am taking my quilting to a new level. Today I ordered the Gammill Premier Plus quilting machine. I am so excited about it. I will be able to quilt all of my own quilts. And who knows, when I retire, I might supplement my retirement income quilting for others.

Copy Cat Top Finished

I finished the copy cat quilt top last night.

Thank you Charla for the pattern! I had to see what it would look like. I am using my scraps and extra fat quarters to make the quilt in blues with a gold background. I think it will be so cute!!

Canning Beans

There is something very rewarding to me about canning or "putting up" your own food. With the help of my good friend Sherry, I finally got over my fears of the pressure canner, and purchased one. I had trouble finding green beans, but Jim found some at a local veggie stand. We worked in beans all day. We canned 21 quarts, a good half day's work! When I retire, I want to have a garden so I can grow and can more of our food. I am so domestic. I enjoy cooking, cleaning, quilting, and now canning! I should have been born 100 years ago.

Tablecloth Quilt

This is from a pattern I've made before, only this time, I rearranged the blocks to make a totally different looking quilt.
